Lavender care

Lavandula

Thirsty’s starting schedule for Lavender: about every 7 days. Check the soil and adjust it to your home.

Watering

In a pot, water once or twice a week in hot summer weather when the compost starts to dry out, and keep it fairly dry in winter. It hates wet roots, and overwatering causes root rot. [1][2]

Light

Needs lots of sun (full sun). It won't last long in shady, damp conditions. [1][2]

Soil and potting

Very free-draining, neutral to alkaline mix: multipurpose or loam-based compost with plenty of grit or perlite added. [1][2][3]

Pets

Toxic to cats and dogs. It can cause nausea, vomiting and loss of appetite. [4]
