Bromeliad care

Aechmea

Thirsty’s starting schedule for Bromeliad: about every 7 days. Check the soil and adjust it to your home.

Watering

Keep water in the central cup and change it about once a month. Water the potting mix well, then let it dry before watering again, since soggy soil causes root rot. Water less in winter. [1][2][3]

Light

Bright, indirect light. Aechmeas need bright light to do well. [1][2][3]

Humidity

Likes humid air (about 50 to 75% relative humidity). Most homes are too dry, so mist it often. [1][3]

Soil and potting

A porous, fast-draining mix such as an orchid mix. It should never be soggy. [1][2][3]
